Visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will today jointly launch the signalling system for the Maho - Anuradhapura railway line.
They will also launch the railway track of the Maho - Omanthai line today.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed his appreciation for the support extended by India for the project.
"I extended my thanks to Prime Minister Modi for converting the US$ 14.9 million line of credit provided for the construction of the Maho-Omanthai railway line into a grant for the installation of the signalling system on the Maho-Anuradhapura railway line', the President said yesterday.
