A new application form has been introduced by the Defence Ministry for the renewal of firearm licenses.
Individuals and institutes possessing firearms can download the application from the Ministry’s website and duly completed forms can be forwarded to the Ministry of Defence or to relevant District Secretariats, the Ministry said.
As informed earlier renewal of firearm licenses for the upcoming year (2022) will be carried out from 01st December 2021 to 28th February 2022. Firearm licenses will not be renewed after the end of the deadline (Feb 28, 2022).
According to Act 22 of the Firearms Ordinance, possession of firearms without a valid license is a punishable act by law. The application form is available on the Ministry’s website.
