The Port and Aviation Levy (PAL) on solar panel static converters/inverters has been lifted, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.
He said this comes into effect starting from January 01 this year. Previously a 10 percent levy was imposed on the above products.
He said the move was to encourage renewable energy sources. The removal of the levy has been gazetted (2312/67) and signed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
