An investigation team responsible for undertaking excavations and exhumations in the Kurukkalmadam mass grave in Batticalao conducted a field visit on Thursday to plan how to proceed.
The team will prepare an investigation plan and a budget, which will be presented to the court by September 18.
The team comprising Judicial Medical Officers (JMO) headed by the Chief Consultant JMO, and officers of the Archaeology Department, along with the police, Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), lawyers representing the complainant, and officials from the Office on Missing Persons, visited the suspected mass grave site under the supervision of the Kaluwanchikudy Magistrate Court Judge, J. B. A. Ranjithkumar.
