Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Santosh Jha today visited former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at his private residence in Tangalle today.
Mr Jha and Mr Rajapaksa exchanged views on a range of subjections including the current political developments.
The High Commissioner who was accompanied by his wife stayed on for lunch.
Mr Rajapaksa, following the visit in a message shared on Facebook said the bond with India goes beyond the political links. He said that historical, economical, religious and security ties are part of the important links.
The visit by the High Commissioner came as hundreds continue to visit Mr Rajapaksa at his Tangalle ‘Carlton’ residence, since he shifted there after he was forced to vacate his Wijerama residence in view of the new law passed in Parliament.
