The Commissioner General of the Department of Examinations met with the examiners in charge of marking yesterday.
This was announced by the Minister of Transport and Highways and Media and Cabinet spokesman, Bandula Gunawardena in the weekly cabinet briefing today (April 25).
He expects the meeting to be successful and the marking of papers to begin quickly, which is the “wish of all who cares about the children”.
“A student of a rich parent may follow foreign syllabuses after Ordinary Level. But for other children, this problem risks their lives and thereby, everyone should be compassionate and fulfill their duty”, the Minister added.
Meanwhile, the Federation of University Teachers Association is to meet today and discuss the paper marking issue.
