A drunk school bus driver who was arrested by Traffic Department officers of the Katupotha Police Station yesterday afternoon was produced before the Narammala Magistrate's Court this morning, May 20, 2025.
The arrested bus driver is a 52 year old resident of Radalliyagoda, Katupotha. At the time of the arrest, 16 school children and two mothers were traveling in the bus.
The Sri Lanka Police regularly conducts traffic operations to arrest drunk drivers and traffic violations. Accordingly, a school bus carrying a group of school children was inspected by Traffic Department officers of the Katupotha Police Station, and the vehicle was also taken into police custody.
The Katupotha Police are conducting further investigations.
