Popular singer Chandra Kumara Kandanarachchi passed away today morning. He was 76 years.
Among his popular songs are ‘Nelum vile’ written by Premakeerthi de Alwis and ‘Ege Sinahawa Thahanam’, ‘Pem Benda Sith Benda’, ‘Ganga Nadee Theeraye’, and ‘Hithe Sathuta Jiwithe’.
He is brother of Tudor and Victor Kandanarachchi. The three brothers contributed the song ‘Poya Sande Sanda Kiranin’.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
