The Meteorology Department today issued a severe lightning advisory for Eastern, Uva, Central and North-central provinces and in Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts.
According to the advisory thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Eastern, Uva, Central and North-central provinces and in Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts.
The advisory said that temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
