Kilinochchi soldier laid to rest with military honours

The final rites of Lance Corporal A.P. Mariyalujisan, who succumbed to injuries from a train accident, were conducted with full military honours on Friday at the Sawaththi Public Cemetery at Aiyakachchi in Kilinochchi.
He joined the Sri Lanka Army in June 2014 and was subsequently attached to the 12(V) Engineer Services Regiment. On April 19, while walking along the track in Murikandy, he was critically wounded in a train accident.
He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A large number of people, including senior military officers, relatives and residents, attended the funeral.
