First Capital Holdings PLC net income drops in 9-M FY2025/26

First Capital Holdings PLC, a subsidiary of JXG (Janashakthi Group), recorded a Total Comprehensive Income of Rs. 3.23 billion for the nine months ended 31 December 2025, compared to Rs. 4.53 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, but witnessed a drop in profitability.

For the third quarter of 2025/26, the group reported a Total Comprehensive Loss of Rs. 0.17 billion, after accounting for a dividend tax expense of Rs. 0.41 billion, the company said in a media release.

The group’s Net Income before Operating Expenses for the nine months of 2025/26 amounted to Rs.6.33 billion, down from Rs. 7.69 billion reported in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Trading income was primarily driven by the Primary Dealer and Corporate Dealing Securities divisions, reinforcing the group’s positioning across fixed income and equity market segments.

The Primary Dealer division reported a Profit after Tax of Rs. 1.64 billion for the nine months ended December 31, 2025, down from the first nine months of 2024/25 of Profit after Tax at Rs. 2.45 billion.

The Corporate Finance Advisory and Dealing Securities division recorded a Profit after Tax of Rs. 1.86 billion for the nine months ended 31 December 2025, down from Rs. 1.94 billion earlier.

Also down was the Wealth Management division which reported a Profit after Tax of Rs. 78.1 million and Rs. 90.1 million for the corresponding periods.
