Spending time with my grandfather was more than just visits – it was a time filled with laughter, wisdom and fun. His stories, repeated but never dull, brought the past to life.
My life changed forever when he passed away. His rocking chair sat empty, and his voice no longer echoed through the room. The moments and the experiences we shared burned into memories. He left a space which no amount of words could ever fill.
At first giving up spending time with him was overwhelming. Simple things – like a photo or simply a watch he wore brought back a wave of emotions.
The pain will never go away but with time I have learned that it changes. The memories which once brought tears to my eyes now bring a smile. His love remains even though he did not.
Some goodbyes last forever but so does love.
Spending time with my grandfather was something which I loved. Even though he is not with us anymore,
I will always hold his memories close to my heart.
