An unforgettable evening of choral music by Metho Cantati
View(s):Metho Cantanti, the official OGA choir of Methodist College, will present “Rise Up! Her Voice. Her Dream. Her Moment”- a concert on Saturday, September 13 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist College Auditorium.
Looking to celebrate and empower girls through an unforgettable evening of choral music, this show marks Metho Cantanti’s 15th anniversary. Proceeds from the event will be directed towards upgrading the IT laboratories at Methodist College.
The Methodist College Senior Choir and Chamber Orchestra will join as guest performers. The show will also feature the popular De Lanerolle Brothers, as guest artists. Many of the songs performed by the choir will be accompanied by a live band comprising talented old girls and Senaka Pereira on drums.
From anthems like Brave, Roar and Fight Song to soulful reflections such as You Say and This is the Day, the programme will be a rich blend of genres including pop mash ups, gospel favourites like Baba Yetu and powerful musical theatre moments from Wicked, Hamilton and The Greatest Showman. Many of the songs being performed are original arrangements written especially for Metho Cantanti by Manique Abeyratne.
