Most Venerable Akuretiye Nanda Thero, the Vice Chancellor of the Ruhunu University, Director of the Vidyodaya Pirivena, Maligakande and Vice President of the Maha Bodhi Society of India has been conferred the prestigious honorary title of Aggamahapandita by the Government of Myanmar.

To mark the occasion, a ceremonial felicitaion and honorary tribute event “Yathivara Sambhavana” will be held with the blessings and participation of the Most Venerable Maha Nayaka Theros of the three nikayas, along with ministers, foreign diplomats and invitees at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on August 14.

Most Ven Dharmakeerti Dr Nanda Thero is also the viharadipathi of the Vidyaloka Piriven Maha Vihara, Galle, Chairman, Board of Compilation of the Mahavansa, Chief Sangha Nayaka of the Western Province.
