The Intangible and the Invisible – an exhibition of stunning abstract paintings by acclaimed Mexican plastic artist and architect Pedro Trueba was on show at the Lionel Wendt Gallery from Monday to Friday last week.
The exhibition was also a special celebration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and
Sri Lanka, organised by the Embassy of Mexico and the Consulate of Mexico in Sri Lanka. Present at the opening on Monday evening were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arun Hemachandra, Ambassador of Mexico to Sri Lanka Federico Salas Lofte, the Hon. Consul of Mexico in
Sri Lanka Mohan Pandithage, the artist and many from Colombo’s diplomatic community.
Based in Mexico City, Trueba is one of Mexico’s best known contemporary names, and the opportunity to see a significant collection of his vibrant works that had been specially brought down for the event, was appreciated by guests that evening.
