Dr. Shanaka ‘Seascape’ shines at ‘Gallery Silver Scapes’ in Delhi

Dr. Shanaka’s painting ‘The Seascape’, which was done during the Covid-19 period when the country was locked down, showcased at the Living Tradition Centre, Bikaner House in New Delhi from March 16 to 20.

The event brought together some works from renowned modern artists together with contemporary talents offering a unique dialogue between different artistic eras. During the exhibition there were interactive sessions and discussions with some of the exhibiting artists.
With a historical importance Bikaner House was one of the residences of the Maharaja of Bikaner and it had been transformed into a cultural hub hosting various art exhibitions, performances and cultural events.
‘‘Harmony’ is an attempt by us to showcase yesterday, today and tomorrow under one roof,” Vikram Mayor the curator of the ‘Gallery Silver Scapes’ said speaking about the exhibition which showcased about 50 works by nearly 30 artists including Dr. Shanaka.
‘Harmony’ showcased works of some of the renowned and seasoned artists like Bimal Das Gupta, Ram Gopal Vijayvargiya, Ghulam Rasool Santosh, Francis Newton Souza, Jatin Das and Krishen Khanna, and some contemporary artists like Thota Vaikuntam, Vinod Sharma, Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharjee, Ranbir Kaleka, Chandra Bhattacharjee and Manu Parekh.
This curated display places the pioneering Anita Roy Chowdhury alongside esteemed modern masters and vibrant contemporary voices.
