Italian Ambassador Damiano Francovigh hosted an elegant evening reception at Villa Roma last week
to launch the 9th Worldwide Week of Italian Cuisine that celebrates Italian heritage, innovation and the distinctive flavours of each Italian region.

Five specialised Italian Chefs had been flown in from five different regions of Italy – Friuli, Campania, Lazio, Liguria, and Puglia to present their regional specialities.

It was Chef Daniele Cinel, specialising in the cuisine of Friuli who presented a fine selection of Friulian fare that
night including a matchless Tiramisu.

The chefs were busy throughout the week hosting special Italian food weeks at Cinnamon Life, the Cinnamon Grand, the Shangri-La and the Taj Samudra hotels. They were also involved in training local chefs during their stay.
