Galle Zone 2 record fifth win
Half tons by Nikil Jayaweera, Vinod Dhanushka and Shehan Madusanka helped Galle Zone 2 to record a close 7-run win over Galle Zone 3 in the
ongoing SLC Under-19 Provincial Youth League Limited Over Tournament match played at Galle.
Nikil cracked 75, inclusive of seven boundaries and a six and shared a valuable 97-run opening wicket stand with Vinod who made 58 in 49 balls with six boundaries and three sixes. Shehan hit an unbeaten 76 in 70 balls that included eight boundaries and a six to lay the foundation for Galle Zone 2’s fifth successive win in as many matches.
Meanwhile Jaffna too maintained their unbeaten record when they recorded their fourth successive win with a comfortable 7-wicket win over Vavuniya at Jaffna while Polonnaruwa defeated Kilinochchi by 67 runs to record their third win. Mannar overcame Mullaitivu by 3 wickets to record their first win.
