UNICEF has received a contribution of Rs.500,000 from the Country Music Foundation (CMF), Sri Lanka to support its work for children in the country. The donation was delivered by CMF President, Feizal Samath during a recent visit to the UNICEF office in Colombo. During the visit, Mr Samath met with Christian Skoog, Representative for UNICEF Sri Lanka, Bismarck Swangin, Chief of Communication, Partnerships and Advocacy and Farzana Khan, Resource Mobilization Officer.

Mr Skoog spoke of the needs of children across different areas and highlighted that UNICEF is working with various stakeholders in providing the crucial support that children need to be healthy, educated and grow up in a safe environment to develop to their full potential.

On behalf of UNICEF, Mr Skoog thanked Mr. Samath and the Country Music Foundation for their contribution, stressing that every penny counts. The CMF donation was raised from its 2023 charity concert “Country Roads”, now in its 35th year.
