A handful of individuals, who claim to have come forward for the love of football, held a protest opposite the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports building in Reid Avenue on Friday, demanding the upcoming election of Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) to be stopped. The protestors, however, could not clearly validate their effort nor were they able to make an effective statement on what grounds their demands should be met. Most of the handful of individuals who were present with placards, were astute not to reveal their identities as it was viewed as a ‘staged’ protest by many football stakeholders – Pic by Priyanka Samaraweera
