Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda, who is on a three-day official visit to the State of Odisha, met the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State.

The High Commissioner’s meeting with Odisha CM Shri Naveen Patnaik was held on Tuesday (22) at the Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar. Their discussion recalled the historical ties and cultural bond between Odisha and Sri Lanka. The ways and means to further enhance air connectivity between Sri Lanka and Odisha were also discussed. The CM and HC agreed to work on a guide book containing important Buddhist sites in Odisha for the use of Lankan Buddhist pilgrims.

Mr Moragoda met with State Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal the same day at Raj Bhavan. Their discussion focused on enhancing relations between Sri Lanka and Odisha.

Mr Moragoda was accompanied on these meetings by Minister of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi Upul Pushpakumara and Minister Counsellor Gamini Sarath Godakanda.

 

HC Moragoda visited the Indian Maha Bodhi Centre in Odisha during his visit. He and his wife are seen with members and teachers of the Centre.
