Two senior students of Creative Dance and Drama Academy (NCDDA), Pathum Weerasinghe and Kalpani Perera were recently invited to perform in Patiala and Sangrur two popular aesthetic cities in Panjab, India.

Pathum and Kalpani had the opportunity to participate in two cultural performances at ‘Harpal Tiwana Auditorium’ in Patiala and the auditorium at the ‘Akal Degree College for women’in Sangrur on the occasion of World Disabled Day. The duo and their team received a great response for their authentic Sri Lankan dance items in the cultural shows which were very successful.

They also had the opportunity to present dances and new creations by joining the children from Pattaya Visual and Hearing Impaired School.

The coordination of the tour and the dance performances were handled by Nilan Maligaspa, the Director of Creative Dance and Drama Academy (NCDDA) while ‘The Indian Society for Welfare of the Handicapped’ (REDG) and Patiala school for the deaf/blind hosted the touring Sri Lankan dance delegation. The tour is sponsored by India Sri Lanka Foundation -ISlF).
