Video competition in search of justice for Easter Sunday attack

Four years after the tragic Easter Sunday attack, almost all victims still awaiting the justice. Though many dramatic turn of events have taken place the real truth has not been uncovered so far. In this backdrop, a competition of audio-visual production under the theme ‘Easter Sunday Attack and Beyond’ or few other related themes have been organised by Solidarity Movement for Justice and Truth in Sri Lanka (SMJT).

Comprising of lay professionals, senior citizens both here and around the world, SMJT has been formed to help find justice for the Easter Sunday attack and its victims.

With the aim of searching for justice in a creative move, video directions could be sent under the theme ‘Paaskuwata Yali Palli Yanne Kawadada Mang’ (When am I going to church for the Easter), ‘Sathya Karuwale Hanguwe Eyi?’ (Why did the truth was hidden in the darkness), ‘Yukthiya Obe Desh Hara Dhamai’ (The Truth will open your eyes) and ‘Samawa Oba Nidhahas Karayi’ (Forgiveness will heal you).

The video creations with any language could be produced to be shared in social media like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube and the creations would be judged by a panel of experts. The best video productions would be awarded with valuable prizes and the competition is open for anyone and their production should be original.

Production which were presented for other similar competition would not be accepted and creations could be sent after filling the google form and the final creations could be sent as a WeTransfer.

The creations should not be with extremists and defamatory of any group and all those joining the competition will be given a certificate.

The productions would be shared worldwide using the SMJT social media networks and each creation should be produced with minimum frame rate of 30 FPS (frames per second) and minimum resolution of 720 pixels. The maximum file size for videos that are 10 minutes or less is 650MB.

The maximum file size for videos up to 60 minutes is 3.6GB.

The deadline to handover productions is April 30, 2023.
