View(s):

Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Japan, Rodney Perera, had the opportunity to talk briefly with Yoshimasa Hayashi, Foreign Minister of Japan, at a reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty Naruhito, Emperor of Japan. Ambassador Perera took the opportunity to convey Sri Lanka’s appreciation of Japan for its timely assistance in several important areas, as well as the ongoing debt restructuring process through the Paris Club and the IMF. Recalling his fruitful discussions with President Ranil Wickramasinghe and Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, Foreign Minister Hayashi and Ambassador Perera exchanged views on cooperation at multilateral fora on issues of mutual concern, and reminisced about their time in the US as postgraduate students at Harvard and Columbia respectively.
