Jaffna trade fair hangs in the balance
The Jaffna Municipal Council on Thursday, decided not to give permission to the Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF) organised by Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services set for the first week of March, till they settle the arrears amounting to Rs. 4 million.
A Council member told the Business Times that they have been in contact with the organisers and have communicated this decision taken by the
council at the monthly meeting on Thursday at the council premises.
He said the arrears were for the years 2020 and 2022. The fair was not held in 2021 owing to the pandemic. The JITF was planning to be held on 3-5 March.
