The launch of The Little Pink Tuk Tuk, the product of a three-year collaboration between author Nadishka Aloysius and the Rosie May Foundation in the UK will take place on Sunday, February 12 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Milk and Honey Bookstore and Cafe, Horton Place, Colombo 7.

The Rosie May Foundation, founded in 2004 by Rosie May’s parents, Mary and Graham, to create a living legacy for their only daughter supports communities in crisis empowering women and children, especially girls, through education and skills training to have a positive future. In Sri Lanka they have trained female taxi drivers to provide safe travel for other women and children in pink tuk tuks, lifting them out of poverty.

Teacher and actor, Nadishka  Aloysius is an award winning author who is a firm believer that representation matters. She strives to showcase Sri Lankan life in her work, in this case the everyday life of ‘Think Pink’ female tuk tuk drivers.

The author, illustrator, and founders of the charity will be present at the launch. Children who attend will also have the opportunity to take photographs with a real pink tuk tuk, purchase autographed copies of the book, and enjoy fun activities, story time, and fellowship.
