Madonna widely acclaimed the “queen of pop” is to mark 40 years in the music business by embarking tour. The 35 date tour headlined Madonna: The Celebration Tour will explore four decades of career starting on 15th July in Vancouver, Canada and culminating on 1st December in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The tour will cover the, Europe including the UK.


Miley Cyrus returns to the charts

Miley Cyrus has returned to form by topping the UK singles chart after a 10 year absence. With a mature sounding raspy voice, the 30 year old artist has seen her new single ‘Flowers’ debut straight at the No:1 spot a week after its release. It was a triumphant entry for Cyrus as ‘Flowers’ took 92,000 chart units and 99 million streams to get to the top of the chart. The US singer’s new hit is the lead single to be taken off her forthcoming eight album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’. Miley’s previous UK No: 1 songs were ‘Wrecking Ball’ and ‘We Can’t Stop’, both in 2013. ‘Flower’s her pop dance/ nu disco punk influenced song is produced by Kid Harpoon and Taylor Joshua.


Metro Boomin scores first top 10 hit
A new name to take note is Metro Boomin a producer from the US, who scored his first top 10 hit in the UK this week with ‘Creepin’. The song climbed from 11 to No: 7. Metro Boomin whose actual name Leland Wayne has the top artist Weeknd on the track with his smooth vocals with the rap section provided by 21 Savage. The song took seven weeks to reach the top 10 after some hurdles due to the presence of Christmas music. ‘Creepin’ samples Mario Winans’ ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ from 2004 and is the lead single from Metro Boomin’s new album ‘Heros & Villans’.


Rolling Stones make to TikTok
The Rolling Stones have made it to the social media platform Tik Tok. The iconic rock band led by Sir Mick Jagger have uploaded 44 tracks. The 79 year old band leader has also opened a personal account with the platform. Meanwhile the Rolling Stones are working on a new album their first new material in nearly 18 years. It will feature the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts on few tracks according to reports.


After Taylor Swift songs Animal shelter names pups
An animal shelter in the US State of Tennessee has named four puppy dogs after the names of Taylor Swift’s songs ‘Carolina’, ‘Bejewelled’, ‘Midnight Rain’ and ‘Willow’. The move after the singer made a donation to the William County Animal Centre in Franklin, Tennessee.


Stormzy working on new music
Having barely a new album a few months ago, the hip hop/ grime/ gospel and R&B artist Stormzy is reported to be working on new song which he has registered as ‘Fire’. He is said to working at the Qube Studio in London with indications a new album will
be out later this year.
