Nightlife in Colombo seems to be booming with number of entertainment with musical concerts, shows, fashion shows and cinemas and theatres. After months of restrictions, lockdowns and number of other social obstacles, Colombo is slowly getting back to its rocking nightlife.

But most of the popular Night Clubs are still with closed doors hindering the entertainment of genuine club goers. But with the resurrection of band ‘Mirage’, the music life in Colombo opens for more vibes and hype of activities.

Popular nightclub of yesteryear, Peacock, at the Berjaya Hotel (formerly Mount Royal Hotel), Mount Lavinia will open its doors after decades on 2nd December for public with Mirage in action from 8.00pm onwards.

Peacock Nightclub was a popular night out venue for party goers in Mount Lavinia during the eighties and early nineties. Peacock Club has now transformed as more sophisticated ‘Peacock Lounge’ with live music during weekends.

The new look Mirage will be in action at the ‘Peacock Lounge’ on the opening day and number of top dance bands are bill to perform during the festive season.

Mirage led by Donald Peiris will take wings to Oman after the Peacock stint, to be performed in Muscat during Charismas and New Year.

‘We are really excited and looking forward to perform at the ‘Peacock Lounge’ again, which was one of our favourite performing venues during eighties. I hope most of our fans will come to see Mirage in action after so many years’ said Benjy Ranabahu, the bassist of the band Mirage. New look Mirage comprises Donald Pieries (leader/vocals, drums) Benjy (bass), Viraj Cooray (guitar/vocals), Asangi Wickramasinghe (keyboards/vocals),  Niro Wattaladeniya (lead guitar) and Sharon (Lulu) and Christine Ferdinandus, two of their frontline female vocalists.

Spin wizards DJ Widhara and DJ Damien of EFX Entertainments will continue the music so that the action on the floor will be nonstop.
