An unbeaten 87-run fourth wicket stand between Harshitha Madavi (65*) and Nilakshi de Silva (49*) helped Sri Lanka Women’s record their third consecutive win in the Commonwealth Games Women’s Cricket qualifier beating Malaysia by 93 runs. They earlier beat Scotland and Kenya.

Sri Lanka scored a mammoth 175 for three with Sri Lanka batters making merry against a lackluster Malaysian bowling attack. Skipper Chamari Atapattu who is in sublime form hit 30 off 17 balls with seven boundaries while Madavi scored her runs off 42 balls with ten boundaries. De Silva hit seven boundaries off her 31-ball innings but was stranded just one short of a deserving half century.

Malaysia chasing a huge score was restricted for 82 for the loss of seven wickets with skipper Winifred Duraisingam was unbeaten on 42. Sugandi Kumari and Oshadi Ranasinghe picked two wickets apiece.
