The premiere of  the play ‘Oedipus’, an Athenian tragedy by Sophocles translated by Ariyawansha Ranaweera and directed by award winning young dramatist Akila Sapumalge will go on the boards  at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. on Saturday,  January 22  at Elphiniston theatre Colombo 10.

Enriched by performances of professional artistes and music compositions of Heshan Kuruppu, Oedipus is a much awaited piece of art for the Sri Lankan theatre lovers.

‘Oedipus’ is also included as a prescribed text for the G.C.E. A/L and the syllabi of the universities.

Tickets for the premiere show is available at Sarasavi book shop Nugegoda, Sadeepa bookshop Borella and the Elphinstone theatre.
