Nalin Wickramesinghe, a retired banker, now General Manager at Mode Group of Companies, was unanimously elected as the 42nd president of the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA), formed by the British expatriates in 1911, at the 104th Annual General Meeting, held via Zoom platform from the MCA Legends Wing, on September 29.

Wickramesinghe, the 28th Sri Lankan to sit on the MCA throne, takes over the baton from Rohana Dissanayake from David Pieris Group of Companies. Last year’s chairman, Tournament Committee, Tarindra Kaluperuma from Stafford Motors, is the new general secretary.
