‘Manike Mage Hithe’ Yohani’s Manike touches the hearts of 60 million

This is exactly what happened when popular Sri Lankan songs ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ hit the music world all over the world especially in the South Asian region.

The hit song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ is a perfect example of how music is loved and revered in India, Bangladesh, the Maldives, the Middle East, and other countries around the globe, like nowhere else.

‘Manike Mage Hithe’ sung by young artiste Yohani De Silva has created history in Sri Lanka as her song been viewed by over 60 million users on YouTube by last week. The song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ had 61,457,725 hits up to 27th August.

Yohani is also the first female singer in Sri Lanka who has cross one million YouTube subscribers.

This is the first time a Sri Lankan song has received such a massive response on YouTube, and the popularity of her song in India has led her to reach a vast audience.

‘Manike Mage Hithe’ has created massive popularity in the sub-continent as the song is being sung at many talent contests, reality shows and film circles.

The song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ is a song by Satheeshan Rathnayaka. This song was again sung by Yohani as a cover version in May 2021. The lyrics were written by Dulan ARX. The song went viral and within three months the song surpassed 60 million views on YouTube as it has become an instant hit worldwide especially in India and Bangladesh.

The song was produced by Chamath Sangeeth in July 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic lock-down. It was uploaded on YouTube on 22 May 2021

The song has been breaking records in streaming platforms and social media leading the makers to release its Tamil and Malayalam versions last month.

The song was also recently released in English and Hindi after earning massive online plaudits.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan also could not help but share his love for the song.

The Big B took to Twitter to share a video of his dance sequence from his blockbuster ‘Kaalia’ where the original song ‘Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai’ was replaced with ‘Manike Mage Hithe’. A mesmerized Bachchan clarified that the editing was done by none other than his granddaughter Navya.

‘But honestly, Manike is playing in the loop the whole night. impossible to stop listening to it. superb’ he had said.

Siddharth Nigam, an Indian actor, had also created a Tik-Tok video for Yohani’s song. It also became very popular on social media.

Twenty-eight years old Yohani Diloka De Silva is a Sri Lankan Singer, Songwriter, Rapper, Music Producer, and businesswoman. Born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Yohani started her music career as a YouTuber. She soon gained recognition for her rap cover of ‘Deviyange Bare’ and released many covers of her Singing and Rapping which have earned her the title ‘Rap Princess’ of Sri Lanka. She was then discovered by Sri Lankan Record Label ‘Pettah Effect’, which led to many singing collaborations. She recorded Pop Hits (Ultimate Mashup Cover) with them, which led to greater success, and won the ‘best video remake’ award at Raigam Award Ceremony.

Her debut single ‘Aaye[‘was produced by her in her home studio in 2020. Lyrics were written by Dilanjan Seneviratne and this song is about how she came to the music industry.

The daughter of retired Major General Prasanna de Silva, Yohani is an Old Girl of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and Yohani did her A / L in England.

Yohani graduated with a BSc in Logistics Management from the General Sir John Kothalawala Defense University.

Eventually, she earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting in Australia.

Yohani’s music career began as a Youtuber. Undaunted, she has now invaded several platforms such as Spotify and Apple music.

‘I have finished my debut Sinhala album with twelve songs. I am planning to launch it with a live concert but the current pandemic situation keeps me waiting for it. Probably in December or early next year will be able to launch my debut album. Hope for the best’ She said.

Her songs ‘Haal Messa..Viyole Viyole’, ‘Rawwath Dasin’ and ‘Awidan Yanawa’ are also very popular.
