The Commission of Inquiry looking into the Easter Sunday attacks has recommended that the Criminal Investigations Department investigates reports that the Katuwapitiya Church suicide bomber’s widow Pulasthini Rajendran alias Sarah who fled to India by sea had returned to the country.

This was after intelligence reports revealed that Sarah had returned via sea and stayed in three locations in Mannar before travelling to Puttalam and then to Batticaloa.

The Commission was told that Sarah had contacted suspects who had escaped arrest over the Easter Sunday attacks, those who are on bail over the incident and those who had been arrested and released due to lack of evidence.
