Veteran teledrama director and playwright Ariyaratne Athugala’s debut film ‘Saho’ (Dear Brother) has completed its production and ready to be released.

Scripted and directed by Athugala himself the film, a love story is set in the backdrop of Sri Lankan university system.

‘Saho’ stars Dasun Pathirana, Dinara Punchihewa, Harshi Anjumala, Biyaka Amarasinghe, Sonduru Lokupothagama and Nivarthana Devage in the stellar cast.

Behind the screen, musical score by Tharupathi Munasinghe, editing and colour mixing by Dilan Gunawawardena, camera and lighting by Chandana Jayasinghe and art director is Gayan Madhushanka. Make up is handled by Manori Chandradasa and Chamodari Lakshani, vocal rendition for the playback songs are by Indrachapa Liyanage and Upeksha Nirmani.

Assistant director is Sarath Senaratne, ‘Saho’ is co-produced by Bandula Gunawardena, H. D. Presmairi, Ravindra Guruge, the trio who earlier produced ‘The Newspaper’.

Athugalaentered filmmaking as an undergraduate directing a 16mm short film titled ‘SinaKandulak’. Later he directed teleplays ‘Siththara Gurunannse’, ‘Ramya Nagaraya’, ‘Thunbiya’, ‘Suseta Mayam’ and ‘Samanala Kandawura’.
