Following the long lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic, cinema going culture is back and one of the pioneering theatres in Colombo, specially for English movies, ‘Liberty by Scope’ in Colombo 3 was opened for public.

The theatre is functioning following all health guidelines stipulated by the Health Ministry and seating is arranged maintaining the social distancing.

The first major new release at the Liberty by Scope is the latest action thriller ‘Primal’ which will start from July 17. Starring Nicolas Cage and Famke Janssen, the film is directed by Nick Powell and others in the cast are Kevin Durand, LaMonica Garrett, and Michael Imperioli.

The film revolves around a game hunter in the Brazilian jungle who catches a white jaguar. Frank Walsh is a skilled big-game hunter specializing in rare and dangerous species. He has recently caught an extremely rare white jaguar in the rain forests of Brazil and now expects to sell it to a zoo for a fortune. Frank books a ship to deliver the jaguar along with other animals to the U.S. However, authorities also need the ship to transport a notorious killer who must be brought to trial, and who, for medical reasons, cannot be transported by plane. On the way to the U.S., the criminal frees himself and releases dangerous animals and venomous snakes. The assassin breaks free and frees the animals.
