Police will seek a court order to obtain more CCTV footage and phone details pertaining to investigations into the death of former SriLankan Airlines Country Manager in Europe Rajeewa Jayaweera, whose body was found near Colombo’s Independence Square last week, a police officer said.

Officer-in-Charge, Cinnamon Gardens Police, Aloka Bandara said that though initial findings pointed to suicide,
investigations into the death were continuing.

A Magisterial inquiry into the death is scheduled to be held on Monday, where further evidence from family members and persons who witnessed the body will be recorded.

Chief Inspector Bandara said they will be collecting CCTV footage from around the deceased’s residence and where the body was found.

A postmortem report is due to be submitted to courts.
