Jetwing Symphony PLC recorded a revenue of Rs. 396 million for the quarter ended 31st December 2019, down by 18 per cent compared to the last financial year due to the decrease in expected tourist arrivals as a result of the Easter Sunday attacks.

In his statement, Hiran Cooray, Chairman of Jetwing Symphony PLC, said: “It is pleasing to see tourism re-energised by the growth in arrivals in the month of December and continuing on into January. We were recovering well from the impact of last year’s unfortunate incident, but now we will need to be cautious and watch the outcome of the coronavirus on global tourism and how it will affect our future performance, as it is too early to judge. On a positive note, we were extremely excited to welcome the first guests to Jetwing Kandy Gallery, the company’s sixth hotel in the country, which opened its doors to the public on January 21. The property offers personalised butler service, a stunning pool, spa facilities and many other modern luxuries that give guests an unforgettable experience. We also had unprecedented media coverage and international awareness of Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Safari Camp and Sri Lanka owing to a video of ‘Natta Kota’ (an elephant who frequents the property) going viral online.”

Jetwing Symphony PLC comes under the Jetwing Family of hotels; a brand known as the home of Sri Lankan hospitality and is geared to deliver to the exponentially growing tourist arrivals to the country.

Backed up by over four decades of experience, Jetwing Symphony PLC is creating a new future for tourism in Sri Lanka through innovative resorts in key destinations, complemented by the famed Jetwing approach to world class service and a firm commitment to responsible and sustainable operations. Currently, Jetwing Yala (and Jetwing Safari Camp), Jetwing Kaduruketha, Jetwing Lake, Jetwing Colombo Seven, Jetwing Kandy Gallery and Jetwing Surf are in operation.
