With Sri Lanka’s marine biodiversity increasingly threatened by overfishing, pollution, coastal development and climate change, ‘Prioritizing marine conservation: facts vs fuzz’ is the theme of this month’s Wildlife and Nature Protection Society (WNPS)  lecture.

The lecture by marine biologist and well known underwater photographer Nishan Perera will be on Thursday, February 20 at 6 p.m. at the Jasmine Hall of the BMICH. The lecture is open to all and entrance is free.

Perera is co-founder of the Blue Resources Trust, a marine conservation organisation and currently oversees its coral reef research programme and is conducting research on coral reef resilience, reef fish distribution and small scale fisheries.
