Lyceum Panadura win International Schools Under-18 Football 2020
View(s):Skipper Sajad Zarook took the limelight as Panadura Lyceum clinched the G.T. Bandara Challenge Trophy, as the champions in the International School’s Under-18 Football tournament, when they beat Lyceum Nugegoda in the final that was held at the Janaka Ranawaka grounds in Moragasmulla on January 31.
It was a closely contested match as the pendulum swung towards both sides throughout the game. Eventually Sajad scored the only goal for Lyceum Panadura in the 33rd minute and that clinched the title for them.
The tournament was organised by Royal Institute Colombo and a total of 16 teams participated. Gateway College Colombo emerged as first runners-up. Sajad shone throughout the competition as he was awarded the Player of the Tournament with a tally of nine goals in six matches. Senal Sachintha of Lyceum Panadura was awarded as the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
