With the aim of promoting the legacy created by the late Dr. Jayalath Manoratne’s vision and mission, and extending them to the next generation, ‘Mano Ranga Sobha’, a theatrical presentation compiled with some of the interesting parts of dramas produced and played by the award winning actor and playwright.

Dr. Manoratne did a yeoman service to the Sri Lankan theatre as an actor, producer, screenplay writer, poet, writer and in recognition of his work, he was bestowed with doctorates by two universities.

Dr. Manoratne has produced 13 plays and his mission is contained in what he produced. ‘Mano Ranga Sobha’ with selected special scenes from his dramas, will go on the boards on February 21 at the Bishop’s College auditorium in Colombo.

The stars for this show includes his son Bhanuka Manoratne, Prasannajith Abeyssuriya, Rodney Warnakula, Rathna Lalani, Indiaka Jayasinghe, Firni Roshani, Ishara Wickremesinghe, Somapala Pathirage, Kumara Liyanage, Theruni Achansa, Yasendra Edirisinghe, Nayanathara Sandamali.

Swineetha Perera has done the costume designing, make up Jagath Padmasiri, music Ranjith Balasuiya and the script and the production is by Bandara Eheliyagoda. Priyankara de Silva is the organiser of the event.
