Lyceum International School, Panadura commenced their sporting the sporting year on a winning note as they were crowned the International schools Under-15 Cricket Tournament champions as they beat Lyceum Wattala at the Keion grounds in Panadura.

In the final Lyceum Panadura won the toss and elected to bowl. Throughout the first innings Lyceum Panadura kept the game under control. All-rounder Yesith Kalupahana and Dilnaka Daluwatta were the standout bowlers for them as both of them went on to take two scalps each to restrict Lyceum Wattala to a manageable score of 189 runs in 30 overs.

Jeran Fernando and Joshua Prabahan provided some respectability for the visitors as they scored 45 and 33 runs respectively.

In the chase, the star of the tournament Yesith Kalupahana, continued to dominate the opposition bowlers. He went on to get a counter attacking century.

Meanwhile Rusiru Fernando scored an unbeaten knock of 83 runs. The pair had an unbeaten partnership of 191 runs for the second wicket which enabled them to win the tournament in style.

Lithika Bandara was the only wicket taker for the visitors.

The tournament was organised by Lyceum Panadura, where 16 teams took part in a 30-over format. Lyceum Nugegoda beat British School Colombo to win the third place playoff of the tournament. All individual awards on offer were claimed by Lyceum Panadura cricketers. Yesith Kalupahana was named the Best Batsman while Dilnaka Daluwatte was named the Best Bowler. Tharuka de Silva emerged the Best Fielder as Rusiru Fernando claimed the Man-of-the-Final award.
