Piyasena re-elected president of Modern Pentathlon Federation

Nishanthe Piyasena was re-elected president of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Sri Lanka (MPFSL) at their annual general meeting (AGM) held on December 22 at the Ceylon City Hotel in Mt. Lavinia.
Prabod Dharshana Munasinghe was elected as the general secretary while Ushan Kodagoda was elected as the treasurer. Eight members were elected as office bearers and they will serve the MPFSL for a term of two years until 2022.
Preethi Perera as chairman of the election committee, representatives of all affiliated clubs, representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Sports, as well wishers attended the meeting.
The development plan of MPFSL was also revealed during the meeting, focusing more on adding sustainability initiatives to its events. Plans to make the participation of Sri Lankan athletes at Youth Olympics 2022 and introducing event management software for future MPFSL events were among the key highlights discussed at the meeting.
