Embilipitiya Central College team
Embilipitiya Central College and Hindu College, Kilinochchi won the Under-20 Boys’ and Girls’ titles of the All-Island Schools Kabaddi Championships 2019. The championship was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Kabaddi Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
Embilipitiya Central fared well to win the Under-20 Boys’ category, pushing down Thambutthegama Central College to the runners-up position. The overall third place of this category was claimed by Nelliadi Maha Vidyalaya.
Hindu College, Kilinochchi team
Hindu College, Kilinochchi beat Nelliadi Maha Vidyalaya to win the Under-20 Girls’ category while Kiran Maha Vidyalaya, Battocaloa secured the overall third spot.
Makuloluwa Maha Vidyalaya won the Under-17 Boy’s category, defeating Ashraf National School, Kalmunai, while D.S. Senanayake Central College, Badulla was placed overall third. Mahawela National School, Thennnekumbura won the Under-17 Girls’ championship, defeating Sivanagar Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, while St. Thomas’ Maha Vidyalaya, Jaffna secured the third
position.
