BMICH – Sri Lanka’s iconic landmark recently hosted MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Conventions and Exhibitions) agents from Australia, India China and Singapore on a familiarisation tour of the extensive facilities available at South Asia’s largest, purpose-built convention centre.

These MICE agents represent travel and event management companies based in Australia, China, Singapore and India. The agents were received and hosted by the leadership team of BMICH.

“With convenient flight connections to Colombo from Australia, China, Singapore and India, these are important markets for our conventions, conferences, exhibitions and events business. The advantage of booking the BMICH is that we handle events on a ‘Turn Key’ basis which includes airline reservations, ground transport, hotel reservations and introduction to local event management companies based on the request of the event organiser,” said Sunil Dissanayake-Director/Chief Executive, BMICH in a media release.   The MICE agents were given a comprehensive tour of the 21 indoor and 12 outdoor venues available at BMICH. At the end of the guided tours of the venues, each MICE agent was presented with a Sri Lankan memento as a souvenir of the visit.

“We are impressed by the comprehensive facilities, services and the landscaping at BMICH which positions it at the same level of any international convention centre in the region. The friendly and helpful staff would no doubt help to make any event a success too,” said one visiting agent representing the MICE market in Australia.

After the tour, the Director/Chief Executive of BMICH expressed confidence that the MICE agents would, upon returning to their countries, be in a position to promote the BMICH to host meetings, seminars, conferences and weddings for their valuable clients.

BMICH is Sri Lanka’s largest and Asia’s very first purpose-built convention centre with ultra-modern facilities. Recently redesigned, renovated and refurbished, BMICH is South Asia’s premier Integrated MICE Complex with all the facilities required to host any type of convention, seminar, exhibition, conference or wedding including multi-day international conventions and conferences.
