‘Battle of the Bands’ (BOTB), organised by Ladies’ College will feature the talents of six up-and-coming youth bands of schools ranging from Ananda College to Lyceum Wattala, attracting a crowd as diverse as it is enthusiastic.

CRYPTIC- All-girl band from Ladies’ College

BOTB is scheduled to take place on November 29, 2019 (Friday) at the Air Force Grounds opposite Cinnamon Lakeside, and will showcase a variety of lively guest performances, including singing, dancing, and beatboxing acts, in addition to accommodating more than 15 food stalls – from sushi to tacos, and crepes to kottu.

The gates open at 5.00 p.m. with tickets priced at Rs. 700. Attractions include a ferris wheel, a fortune teller, a Rodeo Bull, and traditional carnival games. The competition and the celebration to follow will begin at 6.30 p.m. and enlists the support of the audience by encouraging attendees to vote for their favourite band.

All proceeds will be donated towards improving the facilities of two underprivileged schools – Naronavita Sumanasiri Maha Vidyalaya in Porogama (Galle District), and Therankandal G.T.M. School in Thunukkai (Mullaitivu District).
