Keells Food opens new factory for Keells Krest Ezy Rice
View(s):Keells Food Products PLC, a pioneer in processed meat manufacturing, recently opened its world class, state-of-the-art newest factory located at the Makandura Industrial Zone premises in Pannala.

This facility is the company’s newest addition to its operations. Deployed with modern customised machinery, the factory is designed to leverage best-in-class innovation such as its latest addition, the Keells Krest Ezy Rice range.
The new factory enables the manufacturing of a rice meal which can be prepared in just five minutes. Tantalising consumer taste buds, Ezy Rice is available in four flavoursome varieties including Fried Rice, Yellow Rice, Spicy Rice and Red Rice, the company said in a media release.
The new product innovation enables Keells Foods to further its mission of producing nutritious food which is more accessible and more relevant while also producing comfort food that people already know and love while presenting a totally unique experience from the Keells Krest brand.
Attending the special occasion was Krishan Balendra, Chairman of John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) as Chief Guest, Group Executive Committee members of JKH, Consumer Food Sector Committee members of JKH, the Keells Food Products PLC team and relevant stakeholders.

The factory will enable us to strengthen our new product portfolio which is a result of nearly five years’ research and development efforts including product improvement and testing,” said Mr. Balendra.
