S. Thomas’ recorded a crushing innings and 50-run win over St. John’s Jaffna in the Under-19 Inter-School cricket encounter concluded at Mt. Lavinia yesterday.

Thomians who scored 250 for the loss of eight wickets in response to Johnians first innings score of 98, ripped through the Johnians inning once again bowling them out for a paltry 102 to stamp their class.

St. John’s batting the second time, with a first innings deficit of 152 runs found the Thomian right arm spinners Dilmin Ratnayake and Umayanga Suwaris who together shared seven wickets between them, too hot to handle and succumbed for another low score.

There were three other outright wins recorded yesterday. Jaffna Central pulled off a massive 500 run win over Skandavarodaya College Jaffna thanks to a fine bowling performance by right arm spinner T. Vidushan. He ended with an impressive match bag figures of 14 for just 18 runs.

Dudley Senanayake Central Tholangamuwa and Loyala College Negombo coasted to ten wicket wins against Kegalu Vidyalaya and Sri Pangnananda MV Raddolouwa played at Kegalle and Raddoluwa.
