Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) states that Registration Extended till 15th July 2019 for the National School Software Competition (NSSC)-2019 which organised by CSSL in collaboration with the ICT branch of Ministry of Education.  Students of all national level and international schools in all nine Provinces of Sri Lanka can apply for this Competition.  Students applying for the Competition should have a basic understanding of C/C++ or Java.

National School Software Competition (NSSC)-2019 will be held under two age groups.  The two groups will be students under 17 years of age and students over 17 years and below 19 years of age.  The competition consists of two rounds and those are the preliminary round and the final round.  The preliminary round is carried out with a written paper and it will be held at Provincial level.  The final level is an online examination and, in it, contestants will have to design computer programmes.  Winners are selected by an independent panel of scholars through evaluating both written and online tests.

Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is the main organization representing the information and communication technology sphere and it is carrying out a task of national responsibility for the country’s entire ICT sphere for over 25 years. The Computer Society of Sri Lanka launched National School Software Competition in year 1990.

CSSL has been organizing this Competition annually without interruption from then onwards and, this year; it is being held for the 30th successful time.  This Competition is organized by the CSSL with the several objectives such as improving the creative skills in information and communication technology of students following higher education in Sri Lanka, giving their skills national and international recognition and generating an interest in communication technology in young students, the nation’s future.  Further details about the tournament could be obtained from Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), 275/75, Prof. Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha, Colombo 07, emailing admin.exec@cssl.lk or website www.cssl.lk
