Kandy councillor calls for Special General Meeting on the Colombo-Kandy highway
View(s):A Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Kandy Municipal Council (KMC) has been called for, to impress upon the government the need for the Colombo-Kandy highway, to go beyond Galagedera as originally proposed.
Though this proposal has been on the books for sometime and has been a promise at all elections, including the Presidential elections, yet, the mover of the resolution, Councillor Vipula Ranasinghe, informed the KMC that this intended road would now only be upto Kurunegala.
Therefore, as a responsible Council, Councillor Ranasinghe said he has called for a Special General Meeting.
