The Lionel Wendt Memorial Fund, in collaboration with The Workshop Players of Sri Lanka, presents  ‘The Power of Theatre: Artistry, Entertainment and Social Commentary’ – a brand new series of monthly workshops in English, Sinhala and Tamil.

The workshops will focus on an array of aspects relevant to theatre, including performance techniques; production techniques; choreography; design; and scriptwriting, and will be conducted by experienced resource persons.

The Workshop Players, one of Sri Lanka’s foremost English theatre groups, functions under the philosophy of ‘theatre with a purpose’, and has shared their learning with young people from Colombo, Wadduwa, Alawwa, Batticaloa, Jaffna and Trincomalee.

The workshops will be held on June 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Lionel Wendt Kalaa Kendraya. Entrance to the workshops will be free of charge, and no prior experience is required to participate.

Please pre-register at your earliest, by sending in your full name, NIC number and mobile number to info@lionelwendt.com. For additional information, contact Jerome L. de Silva – Artistic Director (+94773733399) or Anoj Wijayaratne – President (+94773328884).
